Innoson partners Shell for a purchase agreement reached between the chairperson and chief executive officer of the first wholly indigenous and leading vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria (Innoson vehicles) Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR and the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria gas ltd. ED Ubong.
The agreement was reached on the 30th of October 2019.
Most multinational organization prefers to have a unique type of transportation for itself; this agreement now brings to light that Innoson vehicles would provide shell Nigeria vehicles needed for both its operational and official uses.
Part Reasons for the Agreement
This agreement is a result of how Innoson vehicles over the years have proved to be a force to reckon with in the vehicle manufacturing industry not just in Nigeria alone but also in the major markets across West Africa.
Some major characteristics of vehicles they’ve manufactured over the years include meeting up with;
- High safety standards
- Dynamic and exhilarating performance
- Absolute reliability, and most importantly
- Affordable prices.
Meaning that vehicles they produce ought to meet standards of both international and standard organization of Nigeria at all times.
According to a speech by the managing director Shell Nigeria ltd,
attests to the fact that over the years shell Nigeria has been keen to support in the patronage of locally made content far above its other contemporaries in the oil sector.ED Ubong
He also highlighted how shell has been fulfilling its community social responsibility (CSR) within all the communities they operate in.
This act has led to them emerging first as the international oil company with the most impactful local content initiatives in the upstream category at the 2019 edition of the Nigerian oil and Gas opportunity fair (NOGOF) that was held at the capital city of Bayelsa state Yenagoa on the 4th of April 2019.
The event was graced by officials of both organizations, and also a formal cutting of tape signifying the beginning of supply of vehicles by Innoson vehicles to Shell Nigeria gas ltd.
